This series was born from the beautiful mind of my neurodivergent son, and the way he experiences the world with such honest clarity.
Where I had learned to alwasy look for the subtext beyind the words, he brought me back to their beginning, to the simple, literal truth of what was being said. A “sitting duck” became, quite plainly, a duck sitting. And in that moment, I was reminded how much quiet beauty lives inside unfiltered perception.
These paintings honour that purity.
They are intentionally free from elaborate backgrounds or abstraction. There is no distraction, no embellishment, only the idea itself, exactly as it is. A gentle invitation to pause, to smile, and to see the world again with childlike openness.
This series is a celebration of literal thinking, of neurodivergence, and of the reminder that not everything needs to be complicated to be meaningful.
Sometimes, there is profound beauty in simply taking things as they are.
